FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
1. Is it easy to get baby in and out of the WaterKiD™ Baby Carrier? Can I do it myself?
It is important to put the WaterKiD™ Baby Carrier on first, adjust for fit ensuring that the stomach panel is flat against the wearer’s abdomen, the shoulder straps are laying flat against the wearer’s chest and the baby seat is adjusted vertically so the baby will sit at a comfortable height for the wearer. Check to make sure the waist strap is snug, not tight, around the wearer’s waist. This will ensure proper weight distribution on the carrier’s shoulders, neck and back. While kneeling, sitting or standing over a flat, soft surface, firmly lift baby under the arms, facing away from the carrier, and slide infant into the baby seat. Check to make sure the baby seat is flat and snug (not tight) against the baby. Adjust and fasten leg hole straps to ensure baby does not slip out of the baby seat through the leg holes. Adjust and fasten chest cross-strap against baby’s chest so it lays flat. This will prevent the baby from leaning too far forward while in the WaterKiD™ Baby Carrier. After ensuring the vertical height is acceptable and both baby and carrier are comfortable you are ready for a safer, more fun water experience!
2. How is the WaterKiD™ Baby Carrier different than other similar products?
The WaterKiD™ Baby Carrier has been tested and received approval from the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) F2236-03. One of the specific tests performed involves testing for the likelihood of a baby falling through the leg hole. WaterKiD™ International, the creators of the WaterKiD™ Baby Carrier, added straps around the leg holes to prevent the stretching of the Neoprene, thereby allowing a larger hole for the baby to slip through. Furthermore, the WaterKiD™ Baby Carrier has taken into consideration the possibility of a baby leaning too far forward and potentially slipping out of the seat itself. As such, the designers have implemented the chest cross-strap to help prevent this from happening. These are just two features of many not found on current designs. Safety is job #1!
3. What age group is the WaterKiD™ Baby Carrier designed for?
The WaterKiD™ Baby Carrier is designed for baby’s who have head control and are between 12 and 25 pounds and 20 to 30 inches long. As this carrier is designed for use in the water, it is recommended that a baby be approximately 4 months old and able to modify body temperature, prior to using in a swimming pool environment. When using in the shower/or bath, ensure sure footing and move slowly and careful to prevent slipping.
4. How long will it last?
As the WaterKiD™ Baby Carrier is made from Neoprene, the only maintenance required after use is a rinse in clear, cool water and hung to dry. If soiled, a small amount of cleaning fluid rubbed gently into the fabric should suffice. Depending on application, care and frequency of use, the WaterKiD™ Baby Carrier should provide safer, water fun for each baby in your family for years to come. Please refer to washing and care instructions on tag in each WaterKiD™ Baby Carrier.
5. Where can I use the WaterKiD™ Baby Carrier?

The natural padding of the Neoprene allows for comfortable wear for a lengthy period of time. The WaterKiD™ Baby Carrier is designed to allow care providers to move comfortably and safely in any environment but specifically for wading or washing.
